spark stacking lounge chair

The Spark Stacking lounge Chair brings energy to every room, or patio, with its bright colors and unique personality. A perfect balance of design and utility, the chairs are pleasing to the eye, comfortable and versatile.

Don Chadwick designed the Spark Series on Knoll Director of Design Bejamin Pardo's request for a lightweight, stackable plastic chair. Pardo was confident that Chadwick, one the premier ergonomics experts in the world, would bring maximum comfort and Knoll quality to the so-called "plastic stacker" category.

One of the world's foremost experts in ergonomics, Don Chadwick received his principal design training at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then worked for architect Victor Gruen before establishing his own practice in 1964. Over the last several decades, Don Chadwick has pioneered the use of modern materials, molding processes, and mechanisms to revolutionize the field of ergonomic chair design. In 1994, Chadwick designed the landmark Aeron Chair for Herman Miller, catapulting him to national attention. In collaboration with Knoll, Chadwick applied his expertise to develop the Chadwick Chair in 2005. He returned to Knoll in 2009 to introduce the Spark Series.

The Spark Stacking lounge chair features an integrally colored, textured, glass reinforced polypropylene frame that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The chairs stack 6 units high on the floor and 10 units high on the Spark Dolly. The recycled black color contains 40% post-industrial recycled content. All other finishes do not contain recycled content. The collection is Greenguard children & schools certified and also includes a side chair and optional upholstered seat pad. Optional seat pads are not suitable for outdoor environments.
