doride floor lamp
With it's slender, serpent-like form, the Doride floor lamp is a welcome design to Artemide's floor lamp collection. It features a 350ยบ adjustable upper stem allowing for different configurations for a variety of spaces. The body structure is hydroformed metal in polished black or white, base in steel and anti-dazzle louvre in thermoplastic. Push dimmer incorporated on stem.
Karim Rashid was born in Cairo, Egypt; Half-English, half Egyptian and raised mostly in Canada. He received a Bachelor of Industrial Design in 1982 from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. He pursued graduate design studies in Naples, Italy, with Ettore Sottsass and others, then moved to Milan for one year at the Rodolfo Bonetto Studio. He opened his own practice in New York City in 1993.
