nuvem, round wire basket

In Portuguese "nuvem" means 'cloud', alluding to the sort of bird's nest of aluminum wire, tangled then squashed and spun, that characterize the objects in this series.

They finally did it! This project has been on the drawing board for several years. Alessi had quite a time finding a manufacturing process that would both preserve the exquisitely artisanal, manual, almost sketch-like flavor of the concept while at the same time allowing to produce the bowls at a reasonable price. In the end they figured it out, and we're happy to finally be able to present a new example of the lightness and consistency that is central to the work of Brazilian brothers. The retail prices, which are a surprise to everyone, place this line in the "A di Alessi" catalogue as a perfect exemplar of the "Super & popular".

Humberto Campana, lawyer and Fernando Campana, architect, have been working together in San Paolo since 1983 in the field of artistic design. They came into the limelight in 1989 with the furniture exhibition provocatively entitled "Gli inconfortabili" (The Inconsolable), a political manifesto rather than functional objects. Their radical point of view is strengthened by the use of poor materials and industrial rubbish.

Nuvem is offered in anodized aluminum.
