fontana black edition table lamp

In celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Fontana table lamp, designed in 1954 by the then artistic director Max Ingrand, a Total Black version has been produced. The technique of blowing glass, particularly in black, renders this Total Black version of the Fontana lamp (also known as 1853) even richer. A world-renowned icon, a timeless design object, it is the table lamp par excellence. A precious lamp born from the art of master glassblowers that pays tribute to the creative genius of Max Ingrand.

Max Ingrand was born in 1908 & died in 1969. He is one of the most relevant personalities of the French stained glass industry of the second half of the twentieth century. Along with being inspired by the Middle ages, Max Ingrands technique and design skills allowed him to produce important artworks all over the French territory. In 1954 he became FontanaArte's Art Director and has designed a number of lamps still being produced today.
