Design Tom Dixon, 2014
Spun brass, cast iron, fabric cable
Made by Tom Dixon

Some overdue additions to the popular Beat family. Beat floor lamp is inspired by the sculptural simplicity of traditional water vessels used in India and incorporates the familiar hand beaten shade. A slender articulated arm can be adjusted to direct the light beam. Solid brass componentry and iron sand cast bases create an iconic footprint for any interior.

Beat Floor lamp is also available as a table light. Style with Beat pendants to complete the look.

Beautiful lamp with quality control issues
Art, more than a month ago.
First - this is a gorgeously designed lamp. Truly beautiful. With that said, we faced (and continue to face) persistent quality control issues. We ordered 2 lamps. One of the first two arrived with. a frayed cord. The replacement arrived with a leaning post. The two lamps we ended up with both have finishes on the inside of the cones that are either scratched or warped. Hive customer service has been excellent throughout, but I twice reached to Tom Dixon directly to ask about the inside cone finishes and never heard back from them. This for a $1000 each. Basically, we just gave up on returning them and have made peace with the less than perfect finishes.
