scoop low back chair with wood legs
Design Tom Dixon, 2010
foam shell, black painted birch legs, upholstery
Made by Tom Dixon
Scoop is all about comfort. It is generously proportioned with a seat that has a scooped shape, designed to hold the sitter in an enclosed space. The fluid form is achieved by applying upholstery to an injection-molded hard foam shell. Solid wood legs create a stable support.
The Scoop low-back chair features black painted birch legs with a seat shell upholstered in a wide range of fabrics. Scoop is also available with copper-plated or brass-plated legs and also a high back version.
scoop low back chair: 27.2" h | 19.6" w | 22.4" d | seat: 18.1" h | 22 lbs.

Tom Dixon
Born in Tunisia, Tom Dixon moved to England in 1963. He dropped out of the Chelsea School of Art to play bass in the band “Funkapolitan” before teaching himself first to weld, then to produce furniture. Tom rose to prominence as “the talented untrained designer with a line in welded salvage furniture". Since setting up his own design company in 2002, The Tom Dixon brand gave Tom a platform to produce iconic designs such as Mirror Ball, Copper Shade, Wingback chair and Beat light.
Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British design and manufacturing company of lighting and furniture. With a commitment to innovation and a mission to revive the British furniture industry, the brand is inspired by Great Britain's unique heritage. Tom Dixon launches new collections annually with products sold in more than 60 countries.
