Piero Lissoni

Piero Lissoni (b. 1956) of Seregno, Italy originally studied architecture in Milan, but first worked as a designer for Molteni and Lema, and later as art director and designer for a well-known food manufacturer. In 1986 he founded his own studio with Nico Canesi that still employs many architects, designers and product designers. The company’s second office, called "Graph.x" opened in 1996. Lissoni is well known for designing the internal architecture of hotels, such as the Monaco & Grand Canal in Venice , and the Bentley design hotel in Istanbul. As a graphic designer, Lissoni designed the corporate identity of the fashion designer Elie Taharie. As a product designer, his leg chair "S44" is very well known.
Alessi was founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi to produce crafted metal products for eating and drinking. In 1935, Carlo Alessi, son of Giovanni, was named chief designer. In 1945, he ascended to chief executive and designed the coffee service Bombe, an industrial piece manufactured in four sizes. That same year Carlo's younger brother, Ettore Alessi, joined the company as a technician. By the 1980s, Alberto Alessi took over the management of Alessi and launched the Alessi company into the design decade through collaborations with designers such as Philippe Starck and his playful three-legged Juicy Salif citrus squeezer.

Excellent, high quality coffee maker
, more than a month ago.
I love this coffee maker. Compared to the Bialetti, it feels substantially heavier, the water chamber is also slightly larger, and the pour spout is a better design and does not drip down the sides. The taste of the coffee is great as well. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
