Reframe Round Occasional Table

from Herman Miller ®

reframe round occasional table

reframe round occasional table

Design EOOS, 2018
Veneered wood
Made in the USA by Geiger®

With their Reframe Tables, the designers at EOOS use two structures and three top shapes, which themselves function as a structural component of the design, to create a range of occasional tables. The square structure works with square and round tops; the rectangular structure works with rectangular tops. The crisp top edge of Reframe Tables curves smoothly into a reverse bevel, which complements the upholstery lines of coordinating Reframe Lounge Seating.

The designers of EOOS set out to design a family of lounge furniture with a strong internal logic. By starting with a common base, minimal in appearance but visibly sited on the outside of the upholstered form, they were able to unify the seat, backrest, legs, and stretchers of the lounge chairs both visually and technically. The same internal logic extends to coordinating tables, which are also built on a common base.

round table: 36.25" dia. | 14" h | 30lbs.

Herman Miller was a West Michigan businessman who helped his son-in-law, D.J. De Pree, buy the Michigan Star Furniture Company in 1923. De Pree had been working at the company, which opened in 1905, since he was hired in 1909 as a clerk. De Pree knew his father-in-law was a man of integrity, so he decided to rename the company after him. By the middle of the 20th century, the name Herman Miller had become synonymous with modern furniture. Working with legendary designers George Nelson and Charles and Ray Eames, the company produced pieces that would become classics of industrial design.
