iittala decanter
Design Antonio Citterio 2004
Hand blown glass

Pure pleasure. A wine carafe has two functions. It should allow the wine to breathe, in order to release the flavors and bouquet that have been locked inside the wine; and it should let light ignite the ruby-red brilliance of a vintage wine.
Citterio and Nguyen have created a mouth-blown, 2qt. decanter with every element reduced to its purest, most essential functional purpose. With lines this pure and well balanced, the decanter stands perfectly together with various wineglasses.
Antonio Citterio has worked with various manufacturers in the field of industrial design since 1972. His designs have won many awards, which have included items in the museum of modern art's permanent collection.
