ej12 ginko lounge chair

Like the fan-shaped leaf of the ginkgo temple tree, Ernst and Jensen's easy chair is the essence of Nordic simplicity. The delicate veneer shell forms an organically shaped seat with a strong sculptural appearance. Ginko is also available with a plastic shell and a seat cushion where the cushion acts as a leaf inside the leaf, providing a more sensuous character and added comfort. Ginko can thus change its appearance as needed, an example of straightforward furniture in carefully selected, durable materials. Ginko's light Nordic expression is combined with essential functionality, as the chair is stackable.

With their joint work in recent years, Anne-Mette Jensen (1969) and Morten Ernst (1964) have manifested themselves as exponents of contemporary Danish design. The duo's collaboration dates back to their time as students at the School of Architecture, where they won Erik Jørgensen's talent competition for the day bed Waves. Most recently, the duo has drawn international attention with the sofa series In Duplo, which won Wallpaper's Design Prize in 2011. Other neo-classic designs by the duo for Erik Jørgensen include the table series Insula, the bench EJ 144 and the easy chair Ginko.

Ginko features either a elm wood or white polypropylene shell and black or white lacquered steel frame. The optional seat pad, in cold cured foam, may be specified in your choice of a variety of fabrics or leather. Please call the hive showroom with any questions: 1-866-663-4483.
