hal barstool

With HAL, Jasper Morrison has created a reinterpretation of the multifunctional shell chair and a varied range with a distinctly contemporary appearance. The shape of HAL's shell ensures plenty of freedom of movement and the slightly flexible plastic makes many different sitting positions possible. Because of this, HAL facilitates dynamic, ergonomic seating. The selection of bases, shell colors and fabric covers opens up a wide range of choices. HAL can be used in all kinds of environments - in the office, as well as in public spaces and also in the home.

Born in London, Jasper Morrison studied design at the Royal College of Art and at the HdK in Berlin. Editor of the Design Year Book in 1999 with a passion for the history of design. Morrison's objects provide a quiet contrast to the creative exuberance of the Eighties. The visual restraint, high functionalism and constructive simplicity attract attention to his work.

Hal barstool is offered with either a polypropylene (8 colors) or plywood (oak or walnut) seat. The base of the polypropylene seat is height-adjustable tubular steel, powder-coated in basic dark and the seat shell and base connection in die-cast aluminum, powder-coated in dim grey and steel base plate covered in sheet metal. The base of the plywood seat stool is height-adjustable tubular steel pedestal with pneumatic lift, powder-coated in basic dark, column sleeve and footrest in chrome-plated tubular steel with anti-skid surface. Seat covers are offered in Plano fabric (100% polyester) in six colors and attach to the backrest and seat shell with 2 straps. Please call the hive showroom with any questions: 1-866-663-4483.
