albedo suspension lamp

Albedo is a lamp inspired by an installation in Dubai in 2012, which in turn is the poetic and emotional interpretation of the slow fluctuating movement of jellyfish. The result is a suspension lamp that is radiant, light and immaterial in its elegant shape.

The diffuser is in fabric, laser cut and cleverly folded and stitched to create, once inserted onto the metal structure, multi-facetted unusual shapes. In white, it can be taken off and put back on, washable, quite easily. The light source, housed inside a central cylindrical volume in polycarbonate, produces a warm light that the fabric diffuser helps to reflect and radiate. The cylinder has an upper cover, which is easy to remove when the bulb needs replacing.

Albedo features a white fabric diffuser (machine washable) with a metal structure. It includes a clear power cable and steel suspension cables. It is available in one size and suitable for the home living room, or larger contract interiors (for example a reception or the lounge in a hotel or even a restaurant).

Highly theatrical, Albedo is the child of the visionary talent of Dutch artists Ralph Nauta and Lonneke Gordijn, founders of Studio Drift, who made their name on the international scene with their artistic installations, extremely renowned works with a high technological content inspired by the world of nature.
