hal wood side chair

With HAL, Jasper Morrison has created a reinterpretation of the multifunctional shell chair and a varied chair range with a distinctly contemporary appearance. The shape of HAL's shell ensures plenty of freedom of movement and the slightly flexible plastic makes many different sitting positions possible - even sideways and astride the chair. Because of this, HAL facilitates dynamic, ergonomic seating. The selection of bases, shell colors and fabric covers opens up a wide range of choices. HAL can be used in all kinds of environments - in the office, as well as in public spaces and in the home. Combining the chair with the matching HAL Table, which was developed at the same time, is also an option.

Born in London, Jasper Morrison studied design at the Royal College of Art and at the HdK in Berlin. Editor of the Design Year Book in 1999 with a passion for the history of design. Morrison's objects provide a quiet contrast to the creative exuberance of the Eighties. The visual restraint, high functionalism and constructive simplicity attract attention to his work.

Seat cushions are screwed to the seat and offered in Hopsak fabric (100% polyamide). The non-stackable wooden base is available in natural oak, dark oak or black-pigmented walnut. Seat shell and base connections are die-cast aluminum, powder-coated in white (RAL9010) or basic dark (RAL9004).
