Pirellone, a series of lamps from Gio Ponti, is a tall, glowing column of light. The construction methods and details of this series keep with the design theories of Ponti's work. The Pirellone floor lamp features a frame in satin nickel-plated brass and a pressed and curved glass diffuser providing diffused and indirect double light emission. This series is completed by a table lamp in two sizes. Includes bulbs and dimmer.

Born in Milan in 1891, Gio Ponti obtained his degree in architecture from the "Politecnico" University of Milan. In 1926 he founded the magazine "Domus" and thanks to this magazine that he lead until his death in 1979, he was able to cultivate relationships with the worlds most important architects and designers such as Charles Eames and Tapio Wirkkala. In 1931 he artistically lead the Luigi Fontana Company and, along with Pietro Chiesa, founded FontanaArte. He has taught at the "Politecnico" University of Milan. His achievements and in particular his educational path lead him to receive various awards including the Golden Compass.
