panthella 250 mini table lamp

"The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination."
-Verner Panton

Verner Panton originally developed the Panthella lamp in partnership with Louis Poulsen in 1971. He originally wanted to have Panthella launched with a metal shade, but this was not technologically possible at that time.

Louis Poulsen is now launching a mini-version of the iconic Panthella lamp with a diameter of 9.9" - scaled down from the standard 15.7" size. Panthella Mini features painted metal shades and is available in a variety of colors. The miniature Panthella features three light intensities and the latest LED technology.

The colors of the Pathella Mini table lamp are drawn from the last project Verner Panton was working on before his death in 1998: 'Lyset og Farven' ('Light and Color') exhibition, hosted at Trapholt Museum of Modern Art in Kolding, Denmark, which took the form of a complete installation comprising eight rooms in different colors, where the furniture, light fittings and fabrics, created by Verner Panton over a period of 50 years, were framed in a holistic presentation of color and light. Color and imagination were two key elements in the world of Verner Panton, and Louis Poulsen has chosen the new colors for the Panthella Mini from the spectrum that Verner Panton himself had selected for the remarkable universe that was 'Lyset og Farven'.

The Panthella Mini emits a soft and comfortable light. The hemispherical metal shades reflect the light downwards, whereas the acrylic version provides a more diffused distribution. The material used ensures the majority of light is spread diffusely in the room from the surface of the shade. Can be set to one of three light intensities using touch in-line switch. Includes white cord for opal and white fixtures, black cord for all other finishes.
