The Miconos series offers a unique diffused incandescent light. The series features a transparent hand-blown glass orb diffuser accented by a chrome plated steel handle. The base and stem are offered in chrome plated steel and the table lamp has a dimmer on cord. The Miconos series also includes floor, wall, ceiling and suspension versions.
Gismondi has played a significant role in progressive design circles. An Italian designer and engineer, he previously studied aeronautical & aerospace studies in Milan. He co-founded Artemide with Sergio Mazza in 1959 and designed a variety of lights. He resided as the president of the progressive Memphis design group, vice president of ADI, involved with the Milan Triennale and connected with a number of ministerial commissions on design.
