le corbusier lc1 sling chair

Design Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Periand, 1928
Trivalent chrome plated metal frame, saddle leather
Made in Italy by Cassina.

The "Cassina I Maestri" (Cassina Masters) collection includes some of the most important furniture created by leading figures in the Modern Movement, pieces which have since become landmarks in the evolution of contemporary design.

This lightweight and compact chair is a counterpoint to the Fauteuil grand confort, more massive, and it is in perfect balance with the table and the chaise longue.

Early in his career, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, also known as Le Corbusier, was met with some resistance to his work. Owing to its alleged "revolutionary" nature and the radical look it acquired from its "purist" form. In time, however, it won the recognition it deserved and is still widely admired.

All the models in the Cassina Masters collection, by merit of their artistic content and particular creative character, are protected by copyright. The exclusive reproduction rights have been acquired by Cassina.

The LC1 is offered in a polished trivalent chrome plated (CR3) or semigloss black enamel steel frame. The saddle leather is offered in a variety of colors with matching arms. Hairy hide upholstery is available in plain black or black/brown/white. Please note: hairy hide combinations are random. it is not possible to guarantee the prevalence of one color over another nor the combination of colors among them.

An outdoor version is also available for this model. The LC1 is Included in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
