kelvin led green mode 1 table lamp

Design Antonio Citterio & Toan Nguyen, 2013
Die-cast aluminum, ABS, steel
Made in Italy by Flos

The Kelvin table lamp already looks like a space age wonder, something from a different world. Now, it is being introduced in a high efficiency, recyclable and environmentally friendly LED GREEN version Offered in two different models:

Kelvin LED Green Mode I with Daylight sensor or
Kelvin LED Green Mode II with Daylight sensor & Motion sensor (chrome only)

Beautiful and statuesque the Kelvin LED announces its presence with 30 LEDs providing a warm, soft & comfortable light. It features a touch-sensor 3-step dimmer (100%-66%-33%). The lamp is constructed of die-cast aluminum, ABS & steel and is fully adjustable. The on/off switch is electronic with optical mechanism located in the head.

In order to activate the Daylight/Motion sensor, simply keep finger on the touch sensor switch on lamp head for a few seconds until it turns from orange to GREEN. The FLOStouch™ technology touch sensor switch is active at all times allowing for manual control of ON/OFF switch and bypassing the Motion Detector. The Daylight & Motion Sensor function independently of each other.

The Daylight sensor will automatically adjust its light output by responding to the brightness of the work surface it is illuminating. The Motion sensor (Kelvin LED Green Mode II) will go into sleep mode after 5 minutes of detecting no movement and will reactivate once it detects movement again. It will turn off completely if it does not detect any movement for 2 hours.

Antonio Citterio has worked with various manufacturers in the field of industrial design since 1972. His designs have won many awards, which have included items in the museum of modern art's permanent collection.

The Kelvin LED Green Mode features FLOStouch™ technology with 30, 3000K 325 lumen, LEDs which only consume 7.5W of power.

Antonio Citterio

Italian designer Antonio Citterio (b. 1950) still lives and works in Milan since graduating in architecture from the Politcenico di Milano. He has made designs for many manufacturers, including : Ansorg, B&B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Hackman, Iittala, Hansgrohe, Inda, Pozzi e Ginori, Kartell, Arclinea and Vitra. He operates his entirely own brand known for skilled craftsmanship in wood processing, Maxalto, under B&B Italia. The first Maxalto store opened in Paris, followed by Chicago and Miami. The company received new attention after appearing in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace. Citterio’s other work includes construction in Italy and abroad, as well as leading conferences and lectures.
The furniture manufacturers and entrepreneurs Dino Gavina and Cesare Cassina founded Flos which became one of the leading Italian light manufacturers in the second half of the 20th century. Its origins lay in the energy of Arturo Eisenkeil who, in 1959, was seeking to find applications for a new, plastic-based material that he was importing to Italy from the United States. Called ‘cocoon’, it was a spray-on plastic coating that Gavina and Cassina recognized as having potential for lighting design. From the outset, Flos established its reputation through its innovative lighting designs from Achille Castiglioni. The collaboration with Achille Castiglioni continued through the '90s, and in 1992 he introduced the "family of products" concept to the market with the Brera series. At the same time, Flos continued to scout for emerging talent at an international level. The first Philippe Starck lamp, Ârŕ, was produced in 1998, followed by the Miss Sissi lamp, Romeo Moon, and Archimoon series.
