Design Arik Levy
Chrome plated steel frame, wood seat
Made in USA by Bernhardt Design

Beneath the Forest barstool’s seemingly random "branches" lies extensive ergonomic research, making designer Arik Levy's beauty a functional work of art. Levy took the average heights of an adult male, female and an adolescent child to calculate the perfect location for the multiple "branch" footrests on its base. Designed for the entire family, the Forest with either a wood or flat upholstered seat, is an excellent perch for eating dinner, enjoying a glass of wine, or working on tonight's homework.

From his Paris-based company L design and together with his partner Pippo Lionni and their team of designers, Levy develops projects in industrial, interior and graphic design for the European and international markets. His technical skills and creativity are reflected in a variety of subjects and disciplines. Levy’s work has been exhibited worldwide in museums, alternative spaces, galleries and fairs and is held in permanent collections of prestigious international museums and institutions.

The Forest stool collection is offered with either a swivel wood seat, upholstered low profile seat (non-swivel) or upholstered swivel seat. The collection is level 1 & greenguard certified.

Arik Levy

Arik Levy was born in 1963 in Tel-Aviv but at the age of 27 left behind his graphic design studio and surfboard shop for Europe. In 1991, he graduated from the Art Center Europe in Switzerland with a distinction in Industrial Design. After winning the Seiko Epson competition in Japan, Levy focused on his career as a professional designer and participated in several design exhibitions. Upon returning to Europe, Levy introduced his ideas, innovative concepts and installations to contemporary dance and opera set design applications staged around the world.
Bernhardt Design was founded in 1980 by the 125-year-old Bernhardt Furniture Company. In 2001, Bernhardt Design cemented its reputation as a leader and innovator in furniture design and production by partnering with Ross Lovegrove to create the iconic Go Chair, the world’s first magnesium chair. Since then, President Jerry Helling has assembled an international roster of creative talent, including Arik Levy, Jaime Hayon, Jeffrey Bernett, Lievore Altherr Molina, Yves Béhar and Charles Pollock. Bernhardt Design strongly supports the rising generation of creative talent through its interdisciplinary course at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and the ICFF Studio program.
