Design Suzanne Trocme
Maple wood
Made in USA by Bernhardt Design

Allee was designed by London-based designer Suzanne Trocme to seem as if in motion. That "frozen in time" nature gives this substantial chair an airy quality so it is not weighed down. Perfect in a group at a dining room table, Allee can also make a statement in pairs or as a single focal piece.

Born and educated in London, Suzanne Trocmé moved to the USA where she began working in store development for Benetton. Her interest in retail space and design led her to work subsequently for Paul Smith as retail coordinator and for Ralph Lauren as creative coordinator. She has written on the subjects of art, fashion, music, interiors and architecture for a variety of publications and is the author of a variety of design books. Trocmé has received awards for her journalism and books. An expert in her chosen world of architecture and design, the author is often called upon to judge competitions and she has also presented radio programs in New York and television programs in the UK.

Allee is offered in maple in a variety of finish options. When specifying light finishes, the natural characteristics of the wood will be visible.

Bernhardt Design was founded in 1980 by the 125-year-old Bernhardt Furniture Company. In 2001, Bernhardt Design cemented its reputation as a leader and innovator in furniture design and production by partnering with Ross Lovegrove to create the iconic Go Chair, the world’s first magnesium chair. Since then, President Jerry Helling has assembled an international roster of creative talent, including Arik Levy, Jaime Hayon, Jeffrey Bernett, Lievore Altherr Molina, Yves Béhar and Charles Pollock. Bernhardt Design strongly supports the rising generation of creative talent through its interdisciplinary course at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and the ICFF Studio program.
