Design Ufficio Tecnico Alessi, 1923
18/10 stainless steel
Made in Italy by Alessi

Re-edition of the Alessi tea and coffee sets project, as well as bar and kitchen objects of the 20s, 30s and 40s. "On a personal level, these objects are part of my childhood memories: I always saw them used in my parents' house. On a professional level, the ?"normalcy" of these household objects has always struck me. They weren't just ?"normal" in the sense that they were used everyday at home. They were examples of an era of the consumer society which was destined to disappear quickly: a time I'd call pre-design, prior to the phenomenon of Designer goods in all of our homes. Of course, in a way, they were designed too. That is to say, they were designed by: my dad (Carlo Alessi) or still earlier, by the technicians of the product development office (a.k.a ?"U.T.A.", ?"Ufficio Tecnico Alessi")." -Alberto Alessi

The Cocktail shaker is offered in 18/10 mirror polished stainless steel.

Alessi was founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi to produce crafted metal products for eating and drinking. In 1935, Carlo Alessi, son of Giovanni, was named chief designer. In 1945, he ascended to chief executive and designed the coffee service Bombé, an industrial piece manufactured in four sizes. That same year Carlo's younger brother, Ettore Alessi, joined the company as a technician. By the 1980s, Alberto Alessi took over the management of Alessi and launched the Alessi company into the design decade through collaborations with designers such as Philippe Starck and his playful three-legged Juicy Salif citrus squeezer.
