Aluminum, stainless steel
Made in Italy by Artemide

The Tolomeo lamp series offer direct lighting with a fully adjustable, articulated arm structure in extruded aluminum with joints and tension control knobs in polished die-cast aluminum and tension cables in stainless steel. The diffuser is offered in stamped, anodized matte aluminum, rotatable 360º on lampholder with choice of wall mount.

Michele De Lucchi was born in 1951 in Ferrara and graduated in architecture in Florence. During the period of radical and experimental architecture he was a prominent figure in movements like Cavart, Alchymia and Memphis. De Lucchi has designed lamps and furniture for well known Italian and European companies. The firm's philosophy is rooted in the search for deep interaction between architectural thinking, industrial design and global communication.

Black model features a diffuser, lampholder, and arms in black finish mixed with the bracket, hardware and fittings in an aluminum finish. Tolomeo is offered with a choice of wall mounted support in polished die-cast aluminum:

Type 'S' - suitable for wall surface mounting with cord and plug connection to wall plug-in outlet.
Type 'J' - suitable for mounting to wall electrical junction box with direct hard wiring.

Note: All Tolomeo wall fixtures are shipped with a plug. To hardwire a fixture to a junction box, the plug will need to be cut, wires stripped and fixture mounted (by a licensed electrician). Please select either a 'J' or 'S' mount according to your specific project. UL listed.

The Artemide light has never been solely a function of seeing, or an opportunity for formal experimentation with lamps as objects. For more than forty years, Artemide has aimed to propose light as a companion to people, as a source of physical pleasure and mental comfort. Artemide has done so, with different work groups, searching through the whole design process, starting with a declaration of values - The human light. Beyond the definition, the human light is intelligent light. A light that knows it has to relate to people, accompanying them in their daily activities.
