Design Ross Lovegrove, 2008
Spun & formed aluminum, acrylic satine diffuser
Made in Denmark by Louis Poulsen

Aeros immediately draws the attention of the eye. An ethereal, floating object with an exquisitely perforated surface at once luminous and shielded. Aeros exudes an elegant mystique reminiscent of Byzantine decoration. Aeros is equally ultramodern, and its advanced design made technical production a major challenge. With its sculptural beauty, its shielded light source and comfortable light distribution, Aeros fulfills all requirements of the Louis Poulsen lighting philosophy. Aeros is mainly designed to be suspended relatively low above tables, but may with the same optimum result be mounted higher up. The fixture is ideal for private interiors and professional settings, such as conference rooms, restaurants, bars and receptions.

Ross Lovegrove studied design at Manchester Polytechnic and subsequently trained at the Royal College of Art in London. At frog design, he contributed to the design of the Sony Walkman and Apple computers. As an in-house designer for Knoll International in Paris, Lovegrove worked on the Alessandri office system. As a co-member of the Atelier de Nimes, along with Philippe Starck and Jean Nouvel, he acted as a design consultant to Luis Vuitton, Cacharel, Dupont and Hermés. In 1990, he created Studio X in London. Lovegrove is inspired by forms of the natural world, the possibilities of new manufacturing techniques and the ability to evoke an emotional response in users.

Aeros features either a titanium colored (sand) finish or white. It is suspended by 3 stainless steel aircraft cables with 12' cord lengths.
