flip trolley

Design Antonio Citterio & Toan Nguyen, 2007
PMMA, chromed steel frame
Made in Italy by Kartell

A new folding trolley joins the Kartell collection: Flip, which successfully combines plastic trays with a metal frame. The trays are made from PMMA lenticular sheet, constituting the utmost expression of practicality and sophisticated design. Flip can be used as a trolley, ideal for aperitifs and buffets, but also as a handy coffee table (the trays are independent). When folded up it occupies a very small space, making it easy to store.

Antonio Citterio has worked with various manufacturers in the field of industrial design since 1972. His designs have won many awards, which have included items in the museum of modern art's permanent collection.

Flip is available in your choice of three transparent and two solid glossy colors.

Antonio Citterio

Italian designer Antonio Citterio (b. 1950) still lives and works in Milan since graduating in architecture from the Politcenico di Milano. He has made designs for many manufacturers, including : Ansorg, B&B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Hackman, Iittala, Hansgrohe, Inda, Pozzi e Ginori, Kartell, Arclinea and Vitra. He operates his entirely own brand known for skilled craftsmanship in wood processing, Maxalto, under B&B Italia. The first Maxalto store opened in Paris, followed by Chicago and Miami. The company received new attention after appearing in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace. Citterioĺs other work includes construction in Italy and abroad, as well as leading conferences and lectures.
Kartell's image and its 59 years of history are described through the company's products. The development, the corporate strategies, the attention the company has paid to technology, the project and the design can be appreciated by observing the products Kartell has produced. Kartell's products express the language and the atmosphere of the period in which they were created, but at the same time, they are "contemporary articles," they incorporate many other values and messages and this is why they have become an integral part of our domestic design world.
