oval table
Design Tord Boontje, 2004
Tempered glass, steel
Made in Italy by Moroso
Boontje represents the dedication of the image-making reality of enchanted fantasy, which saw the industrialization of the prototypes presented with an enormous success to the press and the public. Covered chairs, revolving chairs, rocking chairs, banquettes, poufs, tables, where the ornamental euphoria of Boontje´s naturalistic patterns are dominant everywhere.
Tord Boontje was born in Enschede, Netherlands. He first studied industrial design at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, and followed with a masters from the Royal College of Art in London. Studio Tord Boontje was founded in 1996. The Studio's work draws from a belief that modernism does not mean minimalism, that contemporary does not forsake tradition, and that technology does not abandon people and senses.
Presented here is the Oval table, the table with a decorated top. This unique table features a high-gloss, black powder coated steel base. The top is tempered glass with black screen-printed pattern.
