Design Jasper Morrison, 2004
Polished aluminum feet, solid wood frame, foam & upholstery
Made in Germany by Vitra

Anyone encountering a member of the Park family may initially think they are meeting an old friend. This furniture seems so strangely familiar that you could imagine the items have always existed.

Thanks to the classically modern image, members of the Park family always cut a good figure. They are visually convincing thanks to their harmonious proportions and they deliver great comfort, however you sit on them. All covers are removable. Fabric covers can be dry-cleaned.

Jasper Morrison's objects provide a quiet contrast to the creative exuberance of the Eighties. The visual restraint, high functionalism and constructive simplicity attract attention to his work.

The Park family includes armchair, swivel armchair and sofas. Available in your choice of fabrics or leather.

Niels Bendtsen

Born in Denmark, Niels Bendtsen and his family immigrated to Canada in 1951. In place of a formal design education, he trained as an apprentice for his father, who designed and built Scandinavain furniture. Through working with his father, Bendtsen gained valuable skills and a respect for non-industrial, hand-built traditions, but he was also intrigued by new technologies and ways to satisfy incresing demand. Between 1963 and 1972, Bendtsen had his own retail store where he sold his father's furniture, as well as imported Scandinavian designs. He designed small items for the store, but it wasn't until he was in his early thirties that he truly began designing furniture. Dissatisfied with the quality and limited functionality of the furniture he received from his overseas manufacturers, Bendtsen sold his store, moved to Europe and became a full time designer.
Vitra is a Swiss company dedicated to improving the quality of homes, offices and public spaces through the power of design. Following in the tradition of Charles & Ray Eames, who have influenced Vitra’s approach to sustainability in many ways, product longevity is central to the company’s contribution to sustainable development; short-lived styling is avoided at all costs. This can be seen most clearly in the classical pieces of furniture that have been used for decades, had several owners and have then even ended up as a part of a collection.
