Dieter Rams
German industrial designer Dieter Rams (b. 1932) studied architecture and interior decoration at Wiesbaden School of Art, in addition to holding a carpentry apprenticeship. In 1955, he was recruited to Braun as an architect and an interior designer and served as chief of design there from 1961-97. He continues to be highly regarded in design circles and currently has a major retrospective of his work on tour around the world.
